حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ بَیَّاعِ الْهَرَوِیِّ قَالَ: کُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَذَکَرُوا الْوَجَعَ فَقَالَ دَاوُوا مَرْضَاکُمْ بِالصَّدَقَهِ وَ مَا عَلَی أَحَدِکُمْ أَنْ یَتَصَدَّقَ بِقُوتِ یَوْمِهِ إِنَّ مَلَکَ الْمَوْتِ یُرْفَعُ إِلَیْهِ الصَّکُّ بِقَبْضِ رُوحِ الْعَبْدِ فَیَتَصَدَّقُ فَیُقَالُ لَهُ رُدَّ عَلَیْهِ الصَّکَّ.
3. The narrator was present near Imam Ja’far Sadiq when there was a discussion about illness. Imam said, “Treat your illness with Sadaqah. Why don’t you offer a day’s food as Sadaqah? If the angel of death is ordered to take out the soul of a person and he pays Sadaqah, the angel of death is told to return.”
