حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبَانٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ أَخِیهِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ زُرْعَهَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:
کَانَ أَبِی ع یَفْصِلُ مَا بَیْنَ شَعْبَانَ وَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ بِیَوْمٍ وَ کَانَ عَلِیُّ بْنُ الْحُسَیْنِ ع یَصِلُ مَا بَیْنَهُمَا وَ یَقُولُ صَوْمُ شَهْرَیْنِ مُتَتابِعَیْنِ تَوْبَهٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ.
7. It was narrated to us by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to us by al-Hussain b. al-Hassan b. Aban who said it was narrated to us by al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from his brother al-Hassan from Zur’a b. Muhammad from al-Muffadhal b. Umar from Abi Abdillah who said:
“My father used to take a day’s gap between the fasts of the months of Shaban and Ramadan. However Imam Zainul Abideen used to fast for two months continuously and used to say, ‘Fasting for these two months continuously is like repenting before Allah. These are the months of Allah and they compensate for the sins of the two months of past and present each’.”
