11ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ أَوْ عَنْ غَيْرِهِ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ وَالْفُرْقَانِ أَ هُمَا شَيْئَانِ أَوْ شَيْءٌ وَاحِدٌ فَقَالَ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) الْقُرْآنُ جُمْلَةُ الْكِتَابِ وَالْفُرْقَانُ الْمُحْكَمُ الْوَاجِبُ الْعَمَلِ بِهِ.
11. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Sinan or others from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah whether al-Quran and al-Furqan are two different things or one thing? The Imam said, ‘Al-Quran is the name of the whole book and al-Furqan is that much that is clearly understood and is necessary to act accordingly thereby.’”
