Ḥadīth #20
20ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ إِدْرِيسَ الْحَارِثِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَا مُفَضَّلُ احْتَجِزْ مِنَ النَّاسِ كُلِّهِمْ بِ بِسْمِ الله الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَبِقُلْ هُوَ الله أَحَدٌ اقْرَأْهَا عَنْ يَمِينِكَ وَعَنْ شِمَالِكَ وَمِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْكَ وَمِنْ خَلْفِكَ وَمِنْ فَوْقِكَ وَمِنْ تَحْتِكَ فَإِذَا دَخَلْتَ عَلَى سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ فَاقْرَأْهَا حِينَ تَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَاعْقِدْ بِيَدِكَ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ لا تُفَارِقْهَا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ.
20. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Idris al-Harithi from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Mufaddal ibn ‘Umar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah 
said, ‘O Mufaddal, protect yourself from all people with this: ‘(I begin) in the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful’, and with Chapter 112 by reading toward each directions: right, left, front, back, above and below. When you enter in the presence of a tyranical ruler read it three times when looking at him, count it with your left hand and continue reading until you leave his presence.’”
