6ـ وَرَوَاهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) إِنَّ قَوْماً مِنْ مَوَالِيكَ يُلِمُّونَ بِالْمَعَاصِي وَيَقُولُونَ نَرْجُو فَقَالَ كَذَبُوا لَيْسُوا لَنَا بِمَوَالٍ أُولَئِكَ قَوْمٌ تَرَجَّحَتْ بِهِمُ الأمَانِيُّ مَنْ رَجَا شَيْئاً عَمِلَ لَهُ وَمَنْ خَافَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ هَرَبَ مِنْهُ.
6. Ali Ibn Muhammad also narrated it in a marfu' manner saying: I said to Abu 'Abdillah (al-Sadiq) , “Indeed, a group of your followers commit sins and say, ‘We hope.’ He
said: ‘They lie; they are not among our followers. Those are a people deceived by wishes. Whoever hopes for something works for it, and whoever fears something flees from it.’”
