5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn Sa’id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from abu Bakr al-Hadrami who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah ‘Are people of Damascus more evil than the people of Rome?’ The Imam said, ‘People of Rome disbelieved, but are not hostile to us. The people of Damascus have disbelieved and are hostile to us.’”
