1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مَرْوَكِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لَعَنَ الله الْقَدَرِيَّةَ لَعَنَ الله الْخَوَارِجَ لَعَنَ الله الْمُرْجِئَةَ لَعَنَ الله الْمُرْجِئَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَعَنْتَ هَؤُلاءِ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً وَلَعَنْتَ هَؤُلاءِ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ إِنَّ هَؤُلاءِ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ قَتَلَتَنَا مُؤْمِنُونَ فَدِمَاؤُنَا مُتَلَطِّخَةٌ بِثِيَابِهِمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّ الله حَكَى عَنْ قَوْمٍ فِي كِتَابِهِ أَلا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَنا بِقُرْبانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ النَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جاءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِي بِالْبَيِّناتِ وَبِالَّذِي قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صادِقِينَ قَالَ كَانَ بَيْنَ الْقَاتِلِينَ وَالْقَائِلِينَ خَمْسُمِائَةِ عَامٍ فَأَلْزَمَهُمُ الله الْقَتْلَ بِرِضَاهُمْ مَا فَعَلُوا.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Marwak ibn ‘Ubayd from a man from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once said, ‘May Allah condemn al-Qadriah, may Allah condemn al- Khawarij, may Allah condemn al-Murji’a and may Allah condemn al-Murji’a.’ I asked, ‘Why did you condemn these once and those twice?’ The Imam said, ‘These say, ‘Our assassins are believers, thus our blood will stain their clothes up to the Day of Judgment. Allah has quoted a people in His book: ‘. . . Allah has commanded us not to believe any messenger unless he offers a burnt offering,’ and (Muhammad) say, ‘Messengers came to you before me with certain miracles and with that which you had asked for (burnt offering). Why, then, did you slay them if you were true in your claim?’ (3:183) The Imam said, ‘Between the people saying such things and the killers there was a period of five hundred years. Allah held them (the former) responsible for murder due to their condoning such an act.’” 

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ وَحَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ سَأَلَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) عَنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ مَا هُمْ فَقُلْتُ مُرْجِئَةٌ وَقَدَرِيَّةٌ وَحَرُورِيَّةٌ فَقَالَ لَعَنَ الله تِلْكَ الْمِلَلَ الْكَافِرَةَ الْمُشْرِكَةَ الَّتِي لا تَعْبُدُ الله عَلَى شَيْ‏ءٍ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Muhammad ibn Hakim and Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from abu Masruq who has said the following: “Once Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) asked me about the people of Basra in respect to who they are. I said, ‘They are Murji’a, Qadriah and Harawriah .’ The Imam said, ‘May Allah condemn such pagan nations who do not worship Allah on good grounds.’” 

3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ شَرٌّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الرُّومِ وَأَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ شَرٌّ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ وَأَهْلُ مَكَّةَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالله جَهْرَةً.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Mansur ibn Yunus from Sulayman ibn Khalid from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “People of Damascus are more evil than the people of Rome, who are more evil than the people of Madina, who are more evil than the people of Makka, who disbelieve Allah openly.” Note: This Hadith, according to al-Majlisi, perhaps dates from the period of the rule of Umayyads, when there were many hypocrites in those cities. 

4ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيهِما السَّلام) قَالَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ لَيَكْفُرُونَ بِالله جَهْرَةً وَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَخْبَثُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ أَخْبَثُ مِنْهُمْ سَبْعِينَ ضِعْفاً.

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama’a from abu Basir from one of the two Imams (a.s.) who has said the following: “People of Makka disbelieve Allah openly and people of Madina are seventy times filthier than those of Makka.” 

5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) أَهْلُ الشَّامِ شَرٌّ أَمْ أَهْلُ الرُّومِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الرُّومَ كَفَرُوا وَلَمْ يُعَادُونَا وَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الشَّامِ كَفَرُوا وَعَادَوْنَا.

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn Sa’id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from abu Bakr al-Hadrami who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘Are people of Damascus more evil than the people of Rome?’ The Imam said, ‘People of Rome disbelieved, but are not hostile to us. The people of Damascus have disbelieved and are hostile to us.’” 

6ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لا تُجَالِسُوهُمْ يَعْنِي الْمُرْجِئَةَ لَعَنَهُمُ الله وَلَعَنَ الله مِلَلَهُمُ الْمُشْرِكَةَ الَّذِينَ لا يَعْبُدُونَ الله عَلَى شَيْ‏ءٍ مِنَ الأشْيَاءِ. 

6. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Muhammad ibn al- Husayn from al-Nadr ibn Shu’ayb from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Do not sit with them -al-Murji’a. May Allah condemn them! Allah has condemned their pagan nations which do not worship Allah on any good grounds.”
