32-24 (The author of the book narrated) my father - may God have mercy upon him - narrated that Ahmad ibn Idris quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Imran al-Ash’ari, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ma’roof, on the authority of his brother, on the authority of Ja’far ibn Oyayna that Abil Hassan Ar-Ridha’ said,

“Indeed after the migration from Mecca (to Medina), Ali never spent the night in Mecca until the Honorable the Exalted God took back his soul.” Ar-Ridha’ was asked, “Why?” Ar-Ridha’ said, “Ali disliked to stay overnight in the land from which God’s Prophet (S) had migrated. He usually said his afternoon prayer there and set out to spend the night elsewhere.”
