This report is understood as referring to a form of recommendation, because the earlier reports indicated that he may break the fast at whatever time he wishes without making it up. It is also possible that this is specific to making up the month of Ramadan, for if he breaks the fast in it after the sun has passed the meridian, then he must make it up along with expiation (kaffarah), according to what we shall clarify later, if Allah سبحانه وتعالى the Exalted wills.
