It is also permissible, in the Fajr prayer, after "Hasten to the best of deeds" to say "Prayer is better than sleep" twice, for reasons of taqiyya (precautionary dissimulation). The author of this book, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy on him, commented: This is the correct adhan; nothing should be added to or removed from it. The "Mufawwida" (a sect accused of exaggeration), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى curse them, have fabricated reports and added phrases to the adhan such as "Muhammad and the family of Muhammad are the best of creation" repeated twice, or "I bear witness that Ali is the wali (guardian) of Allah سبحانه وتعالى" repeated twice, and in some reports "I bear witness that Ali is truly The Commander of the Faithful" repeated twice. There is no doubt that Ali is the wali of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and the true Commander of the Faithful, and that Muhammad and his family عليه السلام are the best of creation. However, these additions are not part of the original adhan, and I have mentioned them here so that these fabrications and those accused of exaggeration who mix themselves among us may be recognized.
