مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي خَدِيجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ لَا يَدَّهِنُ الرَّجُلُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ يُرَى الرَّجُلُ شَعِثاً لَا يُرَى مُتَزَلِّقاً كَأَنَّهُ امْرَأَةٌ .

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from al-Husayn ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Hashim from abu Khadijah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A man must not apply oil every day; a man should look shaggier and not polished and greasy like a woman.’” 

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أُخَالِطُ أَهْلَ الْمُرُوءَةِ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَ قَدْ أَكْتَفِي مِنَ الدُّهْنِ بِالْيَسِيرِ فَأَتَمَسَّحُ بِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ لَكَ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ يَوْمٌ وَ يَوْمٌ لَا فَقَالَ وَ مَا أُحِبُّ لَكَ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ يَوْمٌ وَ يَوْمَيْنِ لَا فَقَالَ الْجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ يَوْمٌ وَ يَوْمَيْنِ .

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Ishaq ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I associate with careful people and content myself with a small amount of oil which I use little by little every day.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘I do not like it for you.’ I then asked, ‘Should I then use one day and should not use the next day?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘I do not like that for you.’ I then asked, ‘Can I use once after every two days?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You can apply oil every Friday, once or twice a week.”’ 

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فِي كَمْ أَدَّهِنُ قَالَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مَرَّةً فَقُلْتُ إِذَنْ يَرَى النَّاسُ بِي خَصَاصَةً فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أُمَاكِسُهُ فَقَالَ فَفِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ مَرَّةً لَمْ يَزِدْنِي عَلَيْهَا .

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Ishaq ibn Jarir who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about how many times should I apply oil?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Apply oil only once a year.’ I then said, ‘People will consider me as living in destitution.’ I continued asking if I can apply oil once a month or so but he (the Imam) did not increase.’”
