4 Aḥadīth
Ḥadīth 1

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Harun ibn al-Jahm from Ja’far ibn ‘Umar who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah (s.w.) prohibited men from entering the place of women without their permission.”’

Ḥadīth 2

2. Through the same chain of narrators as that of the previous Hadith the following is narrated: “Men must not enter the place of women without the permission of their guardian.”

Ḥadīth 3

3. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Faddal from abu Jamilah from Muhammad ibn Ali al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), if a man is required to ask permission from his father. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, I would ask permission from my father and my mother was not with him. She was my father’s wife. My mother had died when I was a boy. I did not like to disturb their privacy and they also did not like it. It is very correct and fine to say Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace).'"

Ḥadīth 4

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Isma’il ibn Mehran from ‘Ubayd ibn Mu‘awiyah ibn Shurayh from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from ‘Amr ibn Shamir from Jabir (Ibn Yazid Al Ju'fi) from Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah al Ansari who said: “One day the Messenger of Allah (sw) came out to visit Fatima (SA) and I was with him (the Messenger of Allah). When I reached the door, he (the Messenger of Allah) placed his hand on it and pushed then said, ‘Al-Salamu ‘Alaykum.’ Fatima (SA) responded saying, 'Alaykum al- Salam, O Messenger of Allah.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) asked, ‘Can I come in?’ She said, ‘Please come in, O Messenger of Allah.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) then asked, ‘Can I come in with the person who is with me?’ She said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I do not have a veil on me.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘O Fatima, take the extra of your bed sheet and use it as veil to cover your head.’ She did accordingly and he (the Messenger of Allah) then said, ‘Al-Salamu Alaykum.’ Fatima, responded saying, 'Alayka al-Salam, O Messenger of Allah.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) asked, ‘Can I come in?’ She replied, ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) then asked, ‘Can I come in with the person with me?’ She replied, ‘And who is with you?‘ He replied, ‘Jabir.‘ So the Messenger of Allah (sw) entered and I also entered, and the face of Fatima (SA) looked yellow like the belly of a locust. The Messenger of Allah (s.w) asked, ‘Why is it that I see that your face looks yellow?’ She replied, ‘O Messenger of Allah, it is hunger.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) prayed saying, 'O Lord, Who satisfies hunger and repels the cause of loss, satisfy Fatima the daughter of Muhammad.’ Jabir has said, ‘I then saw blood flow through its course and her face turned red (to its normal color), and after that day she did not experience any more hunger.’”
