Having a Business Where one Lives Is a Good Fortune
3 Aḥadīth
Ḥadīth 1

1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِما السَّلام) إِنَّ مِنْ سَعَادَةِ الْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَتْجَرُهُ فِي بَلَدِهِ وَيَكُونَ خُلَطَاؤُهُ صَالِحِينَ وَيَكُونَ لَهُ وُلْدٌ يَسْتَعِينُ بِهِمْ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ibn Muskan from certain persons of his people who has said the following: “Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.), has said, ‘It is of a man’s good fortune to have his place of business where he lives, to have virtuous associates and children who support him.’”

Ḥadīth 2

2- أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَهْلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) ثَلاثَةٌ مِنَ السَّعَادَةِ الزَّوْجَةُ الْمُؤَاتِيَةُ وَالأوْلادُ الْبَارُّونَ وَالرَّجُلُ يُرْزَقُ مَعِيشَتَهُ بِبَلَدِهِ يَغْدُو إِلَى أَهْلِهِ وَيَرُوحُ.

2. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ali ibn Al-Husayn al-Tamimiy from Ja’far ibn Bakr from ‘Abd Allah ibn abu Sahl ibn ‘Abd al-Karim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Three factors help a man enjoy good fortune: One is a cooperating wife, virtuous and kind children, and he finds his living where he lives and is present in his family every morning and evenings.’”

Ḥadīth 3

3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيْهِما السَّلام) قَالَ مِنْ سَعَادَةِ الْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَتْجَرُهُ فِي بَلَدِهِ وَيَكُونَ خُلَطَاؤُهُ صَالِحِينَ وَيَكُونَ لَهُ وُلْدٌ يَسْتَعِينُ بِهِمْ وَمِنْ شَقَاءِ الْمَرْءِ أَنْ تَكُونَ عِنْدَهُ امْرَأَةٌ مُعْجَبٌ بِهَا وَهِيَ تَخُونُهُ.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ibn Muskan from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.), has said, ‘It is of a man’s good fortune to have his place of business where he lives, to have virtuous associates and children who support him. It is misfortune of a man to have a conceited wife who is treacherous toward him.’”
