The Case of one Who Gives Dirhams to Receive them in another City
3 Aḥadīth
Ḥadīth 1

1- أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ يُسْلِفُ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ الْوَرِقَ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْقُدَهَا إِيَّاهُ بِأَرْضٍ أُخْرَى وَيَشْتَرِطُ عَلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

1. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from Ya’qub Shu’ayb who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who made an advance payment with the xvariq (dirham) so that the other could pay him in cash in another land and make it a condition. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

Ḥadīth 2

2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) لا بَأْسَ بِأَنْ يَأْخُذَ الرَّجُلُ الدَّرَاهِمَ بِمَكَّةَ وَيَكْتُبَ لَهُمْ سَفَاتِجَ أَنْ يُعْطُوهَا بِالْكُوفَةِ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfaliy from al-Sakuniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘It is not unlawful if a man takes dirhams in Makkah and writes for them (his people) notes to pay them in al-Kufah.’”

Ḥadīth 3

3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي الرَّجُلِ يَبْعَثُ بِمَالٍ إِلَى أَرْضٍ فَقَالَ الَّذِي يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ بِهِ أَقْرِضْنِيهِ وَأَنَا أُوفِيكَ إِذَا قَدِمْتَ الأرْضَ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Nu’man from abu al-Sabbah who has said the following: “About the case of a man who wants to send goods to a land, if the one with whom he wants to send says, ‘Give this to me as a loan and I will pay you when you reach that land, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”
