Certain ones among us said that we must walk for a while until we are certain about Zawal, then perform Salah (prayer). Thus, we did so and we had walked only a little that the caravan of abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, appeared. I said, ‘The caravan has come.’ I saw Muhammad ibn Tsma‘il and asked him, ‘Have you performed Salah (prayer) yet?’ He replied, ‘My grandfather instructed us so we performed Salah (prayer) al-Dhuhr and al-‘Asr all together.’ We then left and I went to inform our people about it.’”
