1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْهُمْ (عَلَيْهِم الْسَّلام) قَالَ إِذَا دَخَلْتَ يَدَكَ فِي الإِنَاءِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْسِلَهَا فَلاَ بَأْسَ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَصَابَهَا قَذَرُ بَوْلٍ أَوْ جَنَابَةٍ فَإِنْ دَخَلْتَ يَدَكَ فِي الإِنَاءِ وَفِيهَا شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَهْرِقْ ذَلِكَ الْمَاءَ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ’Abd Allah ibn al-Mughirah from Sama‘ah from abu Basir the following: ‘‘(’A’immah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, have said that it is permissible to place one’s hand in a water container before washing them, provided, urine or things from semen discharge has not reached them; otherwise, one must throw away such water.” 

2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الشَّيْخَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَسْتَيْقِظُ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ وَلَمْ يَبُلْ أَ يُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِي الإِنَاءِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهَا قَالَ لاَ لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَدْرِي أَيْنَ كَانَتْ يَدُهُ فَلْيَغْسِلْهَا.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ibn Muskan from abu Basir from ‘Abd al-Karim ibn ‘Utbah who has said the following: “I once asked the Shaykh, ’Is it permissible for a man who wakes up to place his hand in the water container before urinating?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘No, he cannot do so because he does not know where his hands may have been. He must wash them first.’” 

3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ شِهَابِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) فِي الرَّجُلِ الْجُنُبِ يَسْهُو فَيَغْمِسُ يَدَهُ فِي الإِنَاءِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهَا أَنَّهُ لاَ بَأْسَ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ أَصَابَ يَدَهُ شَيْ‏ءٌ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Shihab ibn ‘Abd Rabbihi who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Can a man immerse his hands in the water container before washing them?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘Yes, he can do so, provided they have not touched any unclean substance.’” 

4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما الْسَّلام) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَبُولُ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ يَدَهُ شَيْ‏ءٌ أَ يَغْمِسُهَا فِي الْمَاءِ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنْ كَانَ جُنُباً.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-ffusayn, from Ali ibn al-Hakam, from ‘Ala’ ibn Razin, from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “I once asked one of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a man who urinates but does not touch anything, must he wash it with water? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, if he has experienced sexual relation.’” 

5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ سُئِلَ كَمْ يُفْرِغُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى يَدِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهَا فِي الإِنَاءِ قَالَ وَاحِدَةً مِنْ حَدَثِ الْبَوْلِ وَثِنْتَيْنِ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ وَثَلاَثَةً مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ.

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about how many times one must wash his hands before immersing them in the water container. He (the Imam) said, ‘Once, because of urination, twice because of defecation and three times because of sexual relation.’” 

6ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَهْلٍ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ بَكَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) الرَّجُلُ يَضَعُ الْكُوزَ الَّذِي يَغْرِفُ بِهِ مِنَ الْحُبِّ فِي مَكَانٍ قَذِرٍ ثُمَّ يُدْخِلُهُ الْحُبَّ قَالَ يَصُبُّ مِنَ الْمَاءِ ثَلاَثَةَ أَكُفٍّ ثُمَّ يَدْلُكُ الْكُوزَ. 

6. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl from those whom he has mentioned from Yunus from Bakkar ibn abu Bakr who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a mug with which one takes water from a large water container but one places it on a dirty place, then immerses it in the large water container. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must pour water on the mug three times and rub it.’”
