حدثنا أحمد بن الحسن القطان، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن يحيى بن زكريا القطان، قال: حدثنا بكر بن عبد الله بن حبيب، قال، حدثنا تميم بن بهلول، قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية، عن سليمان بن مهران، عن عباية بن ربعي، قال: سألت ابن عباس عن الصائم يجوز له أن يحتجم؟ قال: نعم، ما لم يخش ضعفا على نفسه. قلت: فهل تنقض الحجامة صومه؟ فقال: لا، فقلت: فما معنى قول النبي صلى الله عليه وآله حين رأى من يحتجم في شهر رمضان: " أفطر الحاجم والمحجوم "؟ فقال: إنما أفطرا لأنهما تسابا وكذبا في سبهما على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله لا للحجامة.

He said: No. So I said: Then what is the meaning of the saying of the Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, when he saw one who performed blood-letting during the Month of Ramadhan: «The one carrying out the blood-letting, and the one to whom the blood-letting is done, have broken the fast»? He said: They only fasted because they verbally insulted each other and lied in their verbal insult against Allah’s Messenger, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, not due to the blood-letting.
