1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ حَمْدَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْيَمَانِيُّ عَنْ مَنِيعِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ [عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ] عَنْ قُدَامَةَ بْنِ ملك [مَالِكٍ] عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ زَارَ الْحُسَيْنَ مُحْتَسِباً لَا أَشَراً وَ لَا بَطَراً وَ لَا رِيَاءً وَ لَا سُمْعَةً مُحِّصَتْ عَنْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ كَمَا يُمَحَّصُ الثَّوْبُ بِالْمَاءِ فَلَا يَبْقَى عَلَيْهِ دَنَسٌ وَ يُكْتَبُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ حِجَّةٌ وَ كُلِّ مَا رَفَعَ قَدَماً عُمْرَةٌ
1. My father, ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain, and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan all narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Ḥamdān ibn Sulaymān Al-Naysābūri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muḥammad Al-Yamāni, from Manī’ ibn Ḥajjāj, from Yūnus ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān, from Qudāmah ibn Mālik, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain
anticipating the rewards from Allāh, without arrogance and ungratefulness, and without going to gain fame or to be seen by people, will be purified from their sins just as clothes are purified with water. (They will be purified completely) and no impurity will remain on them. With every step they take, a Hajj will be registered for them, and every time they raise their foot (to take a step), an ‘Umrah will be registered for them.
2 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبَانٍ الْأَحْمَرِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ مَا لِمَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ زَائِراً لَهُ عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ يُرِيدُ بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا هَارُونُ مَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) زَائِراً لَهُ عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ يُرِيدُ بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ [وَ اللَّهِ] لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَ مَا تَأَخَّرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي ثَلَاثاً أَ لَمْ أَحْلِفْ لَكَ أَ لَمْ أَحْلِفْ لَكَ أَ لَمْ أَحْلِفْ لَكَ
2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muḥammad ibn Khālid, from Abān Al-Aḥmar, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain Al-Khazzāz, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ), “May I sacrifice myself for you! What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain
knowing his rights, seeking nearness with Allāh, the Exalted, and hoping for (the blessings of) the Hereafter?” Imam
replied, “O Hārūn! I swear to Allāh that Allāh will forgive all of the past and future sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain
knowing his rights, seeking nearness with Allāh, and hoping for (the blessings of) the Hereafter.” Then Imam
added, “Did I not swear to Allāh for you?! Did I not swear to Allāh for you?! Did I not swear to Allāh for you?!”
3 حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ مَا لِمَنْ أَتَى قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ (ع) زَائِراً عَارِفاً بِحَقِّهِ غَيْرَ مُسْتَنْكِفٍ وَ لَا مُسْتَكْبِرٍ قَالَ يُكْتَبُ لَهُ أَلْفُ حِجَّةٍ مَقْبُولَةٍ وَ أَلْفُ عُمْرَةٍ مَبْرُورَةٍ وَ إِنْ كَانَ شَقِيّاً كُتِبَ سَعِيداً وَ لَمْ يَزَلْ يَخُوضُ فِي رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ
3. Ḥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā narrated to me from his father ‘Abdillāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from his father Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā ibn ‘Abdillāh, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Mughīrah, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Maymūn Al-Qaddāḥ, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali
while knowing his rights and without any pride or arrogance?” Imam
replied, “One thousand accepted Hajj and one thousand purified ‘Umrah will be registered for them. And (even) if they are among the wretched ones, they will be registered among the blissful ones and they will be continuously submerged in the Mercy of Allāh.”
4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ حَمْدَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْيَمَانِيِّ عَنْ مَنِيعِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ الْجَمَّالِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ هُوَ يُرِيدُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ شَيَّعَهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ وَ مِيكَائِيلُ وَ إِسْرَافِيلُ حَتَّى يُرَدَّ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ
4. My father narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Ḥamdān ibn Sulaymān Al-Naysābūri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muḥammad Al-Yamāni, from Manī’ ibn Ḥajjāj, from Safwān ibn Yaḥyā, from Safwān ibn Mihrān Al-Jammāl, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain
seeking (nearness to) Allāh, the Great and Almighty, will be accompanied by Jabra`īl, Mīkā`īl, and Isrāfīl until they return to their homes.
5 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْكَانَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) وَ قَدْ أَتَاهُ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ إِتْيَانِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) وَ مَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ- مَنْ زَارَهُ يُرِيدُ بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَمَوْلُودٍ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَ شَيَّعَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ فِي مَسِيرِهِ فَرَفْرَفَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ قَدْ صَفُّوا بِأَجْنِحَتِهِمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ وَ سَأَلَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ الْمَغْفِرَةَ لَهُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَ غَشِيَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ مِنْ أَعْنَانِ السَّمَاءِ وَ نَادَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ طِبْتَ وَ طَابَ مَنْ زُرْتَ وَ حُفِظَ فِي أَهْلِهِ
5. Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muḥammad ibn Sālim, from Muḥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ḥammād Al-Basri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān Al-Asam, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muskān, who said: I saw Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ) when a group of people from Khurāsān had come to visit him. They asked him about going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali
and its rewards. Imam
said: My father
narrated to me that my grandfather (Imam Sajjād
) used to say: Allāh will erase the sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain
for the sake of (pleasing) Allāh. They will be sinless like a newborn baby. Angels will accompany them on their way (to the Ziyārah) and they will flap and spread their wings over them until they return to their families. Angels will seek forgiveness for them from their Lord and call out to them, “You have been blessed and blessed is the one to whose Ziyārah you have come.” They will be covered by Mercy from the heavens and their families will be protected for them.
6 وَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ خَيْثَمٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ يَقُولُ مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ (ع) لَا يُرِيدُ بِهِ إِلَّا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى غُفِرَ لَهُ جَمِيعُ ذُنُوبِهِ وَ لَوْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ فَاسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنْ زِيَارَتِهِ يَغْفِرِ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ
6. ‘Ubaydullāḥ ibn Faďl ibn Muḥammad ibn Hilāl narrated to me from ‘Abdil Raḥmān, from Sa’īd ibn Khaytham, from his brother Mu’ammar, who said: I heard Zayd ibn ‘Ali say: Allāh will forgive all of the sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali seeking nothing but nearness to Allāh, the Exalted, even if their sins are as great as the scum (found) in the sea. Therefore, you should go to his Ziyārah increasingly so that Allāh may forgive your sins.
7 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) مَنْ زَارَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) لِلَّهِ وَ فِي اللَّهِ أَعْتَقَهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَ آمَنَهُ يَوْمَ الْفَزَعِ الْأَكْبَرِ- وَ لَمْ يَسْأَلِ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى حَاجَةً مِنْ حَوَائِجِ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ
7. Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far narrated to me from his father, from Aḥmad ibn Abī ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from his father, from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, from Ḥudhayfah ibn Mansūr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq ) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain
for (the sake of) Allāh and in the way of Allāh, will be set free from Hell by Allāh. They will be kept safe by Him on the Day of the Great Terror (Day of Judgment). Furthermore, they will not ask Allāh, the Exalted, for anything pertaining to this life or to the Hereafter without Allāh granting it.
