My father, ‘Ali ibn Ĥusain, and Muĥammad ibn Ĥasan all narrated to me from Muĥammad ibn Yaĥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Ĥamdān ibn Sulaymān Al-Naysābūri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad Al-Yamāni, from Manǐ’ ibn Ĥajjāj, from Yūnus ibn ‘Abdil Raĥmān, from Qudāmah ibn Mālik, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) anticipating the rewards from Allāh, without arrogance and ungratefulness, and without going to gain fame or to be seen by people, will be purified from their sins just as clothes are purified with water. (They will be purified completely) and no impurity will remain on them. With every step they take, a Hajj will be registered for them, and every time they raise their foot (to take a step), an ‘Umrah will be registered for them.

Imam (a.s.) said: My father (a.s.) narrated to me that my grandfather (Imam Sajjād (a.s.)) used to say: Allāh will erase the sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ĥusain (a.s.) for the sake of (pleasing) Allāh. They will be sinless like a newborn baby. Angels will accompany them on their way (to the Ziyārah) and they will flap and spread their wings over them until they return to their families. Angels will seek forgiveness for them from their Lord and call out to them, “You have been blessed and blessed is the one to whose Ziyārah you have come.” They will be covered by Mercy from the heavens and their families will be protected for them.

Therefore, you should go to his Ziyārah increasingly so that Allāh may forgive your sins.

7. Muĥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far narrated to me from his father, from Aĥmad ibn Abǐ ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from his father, from Muĥammad ibn Sinān, from Ĥudhayfah ibn Manšūr, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) for (the sake of) Allāh and in the way of Allāh, will be set free from Hell by Allāh. They will be kept safe by Him on the Day of the Great Terror (Day of Judgment). Furthermore, they will not ask Allāh, the Exalted, for anything pertaining to this life or to the Hereafter without Allāh granting it.
