Ḥadīth #1
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ مَالِکِ بْنِ عَطِیَّهَ عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ الثُّمَالِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَیْسَتْ سَنَهٌ أَمْطَرَ مِنْ سَنَهٍ وَ لَکِنْ یَصِفُهُ [یَضَعُهُ] حَیْثُ یَشَاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِذَا عَمِلَ قَوْمٌ بِالْمَعَاصِی صَرَفَ عَنْهُمْ مَا کَانَ قَدَّرَ لَهُمْ مِنَ الْمَطَرِ فِی تِلْکَ السَّنَهِ إِلَی غَیْرِهَا مِنَ الْفَیَافِی وَ الْبِحَارِ وَ الْجِبَالِ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَیُعَذِّبُ الْجُعَلَ فِی جُحْرِهَا یَحْبِسُ الْمَطَرَ عَنِ الْأَرْضِ لخطإ [لِخَطَایَا] مَنْ بحضرته [بِحَضْرَتِهَا] وَ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ السَّبِیلَ وَ الْمَسْلَکَ إِلَی مَحَلِّ أَهْلِ الطَّاعَهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع فَاعْتَبِرُوا یا أُولِی الْأَبْصارِ وَ الْأَلْبَابِ- ثُمَّ قَالَ وَجَدْنَا فِی کِتَابِ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا ظَهَرَ الزِّنَاءُ کَثُرَ مَوْتُ الْفَجْأَهِ وَ إِذَا طُفِّفَ الْمِکْیَالُ أَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِالسِّنِینَ وَ النَّقْصِ وَ إِذَا مَنَعُوا الزَّکَاهَ مَنَعَتِ الْأَرْضُ بَرَکَتَهَا مِنَ الزَّرْعِ وَ الثِّمَارِ وَ الْمَعَادِنِ وَ إِذَا جَارُوا فِی الْأَحْکَامِ وَ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَی الظُّلْمِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ وَ إِذَا نَقَضُوا الْعُهُودَ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ وَ إِذَا قَطَّعُوا الْأَرْحَامَ جُعِلَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ فِی أَیْدِی أَشْرَارِهِمْ وَ إِذَا لَمْ یَأْمُرُوا بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَ لَمْ یَنْهَوْا عَنْ مُنْکَرٍ وَ لَمْ یَتَّبِعُوا الْأَخْیَارَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَیْتِی سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ أَشْرَارَهُمْ فیدعوا [فَیَدْعُو] أَخْیَارُهُمْ فَلَا یُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ.
1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far al-Himyari from Ahmad b. Muhammad from al-Hassan b. Mahbub from Malik b. ’Atiyyah from Abi Hamzah al-Thumali from Abi Ja’far 
who said: When extra-marital sex becomes common, the number of deaths increase suddenly. When cheating increases much, Allah involves people in drought and loss. When people stop paying Zakat, the Almighty Allah stops abundance of crops and yield from earth. When injustice spreads, people start helping each other in unjust causes and when promises are broken, Allah leaves them at the mercy of their enemies. When relations are broken, wealth is handed over to evil people. When people are not called towards good and are not stopped from doing evil and when the virtuous among our Ahle Bait are not obeyed, the Almighty Allah will give their control to evil people. At that time, virtuous people will pray but their prayers will not be accepted.”
Ḥadīth #2
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی نَصْرٍ الْبَزَنْطِیِّ عَنْ أَبَانٍ الْأَحْمَرِ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص خَمْسٌ إِذَا أَدْرَکْتُمُوهُنَّ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْهُنَّ لَمْ تَظْهَرِ الْفَاحِشَهُ فِی قَوْمٍ قَطُّ حَتَّی یُعْلِنُوهَا إِلَّا وَ ظَهَرَ فِیهِمُ الطَّاعُونُ وَ الْأَوْجَاعُ الَّتِی لَمْ تَکُنْ فِی أَسْلَافِهِمُ الَّذِینَ مَضَوْا وَ لَمْ یَنْقُصُوا الْمِکْیَالَ وَ الْمِیزَانَ إِلَّا أُخِذُوا بِالسِّنِینَ وَ شِدَّهِ الْمَئُونَهِ وَ جَوْرِ السُّلْطَانِ وَ لَمْ یَمْنَعُوا الزَّکَاهَ إِلَّا مُنِعُوا الْمَطَرَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ لَوْ لَا الْبَهَائِمُ لَمْ یُمْطَرُوا وَ لَمْ یَنْقُضُوا عَهْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ عَهْدَ رَسُولِهِ إِلَّا سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ فَأَخَذُوهُمْ بَعْضَ مَا فِی أَیْدِیهِمْ وَ لَمْ یَحْکُمُوا بِغَیْرِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ بَأْسَهُمْ بَیْنَهُمْ.
2. Imam Muhammad Baqir narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “There are five things from which you should seek Allah’s refuge. When people of a community start sinning openly, epidemic plagues, which were not destined for them earlier, become common. When people start cheating in weight, they have to face drought and oppression of an unjust ruler. When Zakat is not paid, rainfall is reduced and they would not have received rain had there been no animal among them. When the oaths of Allah and promises to His Messenger are broken, the Almighty Allah gives their control to their enemies. He takes away whatever is present with them. When people act without obeying Allah’s commands, He sends His chastisement on them.”
Ḥadīth #3
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص سَیَأْتِی فِی أُمَّتِی زَمَانٌ تَخْبُثُ فِیهِ سَرَائِرُهُمْ وَ تَحْسُنُ فِیهِ عَلَانِیَتُهُمْ طَمَعاً فِی الدُّنْیَا لَا یُرِیدُونَ بِهِ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ یَکُونُ أَمْرُهُمْ رِیَاءً لَا یُخَالِطُهُمْ خَوْفٌ یَعُمُّهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابٍ فَیَدْعُونَهُ دُعَاءَ الْغَرِیقِ فَلَا یُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ.
3. Imam Ja’far Sadiq narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “A time will come when my Ummah will become impure from inside and attractive from outside in order to acquire wealth. They will do showoff instead of gaining divine rewards. They will not fear Allah. Allah will punish all of them. At that time, people will supplicate like a drowning man but their supplications will not be accepted.”
Ḥadīth #4
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص سَیَأْتِی عَلَی أُمَّتِی زَمَانٌ لَا یَبْقَی مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ إِلَّا رَسْمُهُ وَ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ إِلَّا اسْمُهُ یُسَمَّوْنَ بِهِ وَ هُمْ أَبْعَدُ النَّاسِ مِنْهُ مَسَاجِدُهُمْ عَامِرَهٌ وَ هِیَ خَرَابٌ مِنَ الْهُدَی فُقَهَاءُ ذَلِکَ الزَّمَانِ شَرُّ فُقَهَاءَ تَحْتَ ظِلِّ السَّمَاءِ مِنْهُمْ خَرَجَتِ الْفِتْنَهُ وَ إِلَیْهِمْ تَعُودُ.
4. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “A time will come on my Ummah when only the name of the Holy Quran will remain. They will have only the title of Islam while they will be far away from it. Their mosques will be filled apparently but will be completely deprived of guidance. Their jurists will be worst under this sky and mischief will start from them and return to them.
Ḥadīth #5
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ عَنْ عَمِّهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ الْکُوفِیِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ رِبْعِیٍّ عَنِ الْفُضَیْلِ بْنِ یَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقَوْمُ فِی مَعْصِیَهِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَإِنْ کَانُوا رُکْبَاناً کَانُوا مِنْ خَیْلِ إِبْلِیسَ وَ إِنْ کَانُوا رَجَّالَهً کَانُوا مِنْ رَجَّالَتِهِ.
5. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali Majluwayh from his uncle Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim from Muhammad b. Ali al-Kufi from Muhammad b. Sinan from Hamad b. Uthman from Khalaf b. Hamad from Rib’i from al-Fudhayl b. Yasar from Abi Abdillah who said: “When some people of a community start disobeying Allah, they will be the army of Iblees whether they ride or walk.”
Ḥadīth #6
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بَعَثَ نَبِیّاً إِلَی قَوْمٍ فَأَوْحَی اللَّهُ إِلَیْهِ قُلْ لِقَوْمِکَ إِنَّهُ لَیْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِ قَرْیَهٍ وَ لَا أَهْلِ بَیْتٍ کَانُوا عَلَی طَاعَتِی فَأَصَابَهُمْ فِیهَا شَرٌّ فَانْقَلَبُوا عَمَّا أُحِبُّ إِلَی مَا أَکْرَهُ إِلَّا تَحَوَّلْتُ لَهُمْ عَمَّا یُحِبُّونَ إِلَی مَا یَکْرَهُونَ.
6. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq said, “Surely, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime sent a prophet to his community and sent revelation unto him: Tell your community that there is no city or tribe which obeys Me and is still faced with calamity. The people kept away from what I liked and chose to love what I had prohibited. At last, I have disliked what they like and loved what they disliked.”
