Hadith #1

1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْجَارُودِ الْهُذَلِيِّ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) مَا مِنْ مَجْلِسٍ يَجْتَمِعُ فِيهِ أَبْرَارٌ وَفُجَّارٌ فَيَقُومُونَ عَلَى غَيْرِ ذِكْرِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلا كَانَ حَسْرَةً عَلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from Khalaf ibn Hammad from Rib’I ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Jarud al-Hudhalli from al-Fudayl ibnYasar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If any gathering attended by virtuous and non-virtuous people disperses without mentioning the name of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, it (gathering) will become a regret for them on the Day of Judgment.’”



Hadith #2

2ـ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ وُهَيْبِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَا اجْتَمَعَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ قَوْمٌ لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرُونَا إِلا كَانَ ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسُ حَسْرَةً عَلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) إِنَّ ذِكْرَنَا مِنْ ذِكْرِ الله وَذِكْرِ عَدُوِّنَا مِنْ ذِكْرِ الشَّيْطَانِ.

2. Humayd ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Sama’a from Wahab ibn Hafs from abu Basir from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “If a people gather together in a place and do not make any mention of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, or of us, that gathering will become a regret for them on the Day of Judgment.’ The Imam then said, ‘Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, “To speak of us is to speak of Allah and speaking of our enemy is speaking of Satan.’”



Hadith #3

3ـ وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَكْتَالَ بِالْمِكْيَالِ الأوْفَى فَلْيَقُلْ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَقُومَ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ وَسَلامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَالْحَمْدُ لله رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.

3. Through the same chain of narrators it is narrated from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever likes to receive his reward in a correct measurement, when leaving a gathering should say, ‘Glory belongs to your Lord, the Lord Who is by far more Majestic than what they (certain people) call Him to be. May peace be upon the Messengers of Allah. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.’”



Hadith #4

4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ الَّتِي لَمْ تُغَيَّرْ أَنَّ مُوسَى (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) سَأَلَ رَبَّهُ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ أَ قَرِيبٌ أَنْتَ مِنِّي فَأُنَاجِيَكَ أَمْ بَعِيدٌ فَأُنَادِيَكَ فَأَوْحَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ يَا مُوسَى أَنَا جَلِيسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي فَقَالَ مُوسَى فَمَنْ فِي سِتْرِكَ يَوْمَ لا سِتْرَ إِلا سِتْرُكَ فَقَالَ الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَنِي فَأَذْكُرُهُمْ وَيَتَحَابُّونَ فِيَّ فَأُحِبُّهُمْ فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُصِيبَ أَهْلَ الأرْضِ بِسُوءٍ ذَكَرْتُهُمْ فَدَفَعْتُ عَنْهُمْ بِهِمْ.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from abu Hamza al-Thumali from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “It is written in the Torah that is not changed that once Moses asked his Lord, ‘O Lord, are You near me so I may whisper to You or far from me so I call You?’ Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, sent him inspiration that said, ‘O Moses, I am in a face-to-face meeting with anyone who speaks of Me.’ Moses then said, ‘Who is in Your hiding (shelter and protection) on the day when there is no hiding except Your’s?’ He (Allah) then said, ‘Those who remember Me 1 then remember them. Those who love just because of Me, I love them. It is because of these beloved people that when I will to afflict the people of the earth with evil I remember them (beloved people) and spare them (people of earth) through them (beloved people).’”



Hadith #5

5ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ اجْتَمَعُوا فِي مَجْلِسٍ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَمْ يُصَلُّوا عَلَى نَبِيِّهِمْ إِلا كَانَ ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسُ حَسْرَةً وَوَبَالاً عَلَيْهِمْ.

5. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from Husayn ibn Zayd from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘If a people gather together in a place and do not speak of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, and do not ask from Allah favors al-Salat for His Holy Prophet, that gathering will become a regret and a loss for them (on the Day of Judgment).’”



Hadith #6

6ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِذِكْرِ الله وَأَنْتَ تَبُولُ فَإِنَّ ذِكْرَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَسَنٌ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ فَلا تَسْأَمْ مِنْ ذِكْرِ الله.

6. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from al-Halabi from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘It is not an offense to speak of Allah when you are urinating; speaking of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, is good in all conditions. Do not feel embarrassed about it.’”



Hadith #7

7ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ أَوْحَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى مُوسَى (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَا مُوسَى (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) لا تَفْرَحْ بِكَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ وَلا تَدَعْ ذِكْرِي عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ الْمَالِ تُنْسِي الذُّنُوبَ وَإِنَّ تَرْكَ ذِكْرِي يُقْسِي الْقُلُوبَ.

7. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfali from al-Sakuni from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, sent revelations to Moses saying, ‘Moses, do not be very happy about great wealth and do not avoid speaking of Me in all conditions. Great wealth causes one to forget his sins and ignoring to speak of Me hardens his heart.’”



Hadith #8

8ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ الَّتِي لَمْ تُغَيَّرْ أَنَّ مُوسَى سَأَلَ رَبَّهُ فَقَالَ إِلَهِي إِنَّهُ يَأْتِي عَلَيَّ مَجَالِسُ أُعِزُّكَ وَأُجِلُّكَ أَنْ أَذْكُرَكَ فِيهَا فَقَالَ يَا مُوسَى إِنَّ ذِكْرِي حَسَنٌ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ.

8. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from abu Hamza from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “It is written in the Torah, which is not changed, that Moses asked his Lord saying, ‘O Lord, sometimes I find myself in certain gatherings where I feel speaking of Y ou is not worthy of Your Honor and Glory. He (Allah) said, Moses, speaking of Me is good in all conditions.’”



Hadith #9

9ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِمُوسَى أَكْثِرْ ذِكْرِي بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَكُنْ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِي خَاشِعاً وَعِنْدَ بَلائِي صَابِراً وَاطْمَئِنَّ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِي وَاعْبُدْنِي وَلا تُشْرِكْ بِي شَيْئاً إِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ يَا مُوسَى اجْعَلْنِي ذُخْرَكَ وَضَعْ عِنْدِي كَنْزَكَ مِنَ الْبَاقِيَاتِ الصَّالِحَاتِ.

9. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ibn Faddal from certain individuals of his people from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, said to Moses, ‘Speak of Me a great deal during the day and night and be humble when speaking of Me, exercise patience with My misfortunes, be confident when speaking of Me, worship Me and do not consider anything as My partner. To Me is the way. O Moses, consider Me as your savings and keep your treasures with Me in the form of charitable trust.’”



Hadith #10

10ـ وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِمُوسَى اجْعَلْ لِسَانَكَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ قَلْبِكَ تَسْلَمْ وَأَكْثِرْ ذِكْرِي بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَلا تَتَّبِعِ الْخَطِيئَةَ فِي مَعْدِنِهَا فَتَنْدَمَ فَإِنَّ الْخَطِيئَةَ مَوْعِدُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ.

10. Through the same chain of narrators it is narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said to Moses, ‘Keep your tongue behind your heart and you will remain safe. Speak of Me very often during the day and night. Do not follow a sin in its pit (sinful people) or you will regret. Sin is the promised place of the people of fire.’”



Hadith #11

11ـ وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ فِيمَا نَاجَى الله بِهِ مُوسَى (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ يَا مُوسَى لا تَنْسَنِي عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ فَإِنَّ نِسْيَانِي يُمِيتُ الْقَلْبَ.

11. Through the same chain of narrators (it is narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following): “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Of the words of Allah to Moses was that He said, “O Moses do not forget Me in any condition; forgetting Me deadens a heart.”’



Hadith #12

12ـ عَنْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ غَالِبِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ اذْكُرْنِي فِي مَلأ أَذْكُرْكَ فِي مَلأ خَيْرٍ مِنْ مَلَئِكَ.

12. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ibn Faddal from Ghalib ibn ‘Uthman from Bashir al-Dahhan from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘O sons of Adam, speak of Me in public, I will speak of you in a public that is better than your public.’”



Hadith #13

13ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي مَلأ مِنَ النَّاسِ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي مَلأ مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ.

13. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, “Whoever speaks of Me in a group of people, I speak of him in a group of angels.’”
