التوبة
al-Tawbah (Repentance)
ٱلتَّوْبَة
9:81
فَرِحَ
الْمُخَلَّفُونَ
بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ
خِلَافَ
رَسُولِ
اللَّهِ
وَكَرِهُوا
أَن
يُجَاهِدُوا
بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ
وَأَنفُسِهِمْ
فِي
سَبِيلِ
اللَّهِ
وَقَالُوا
لَا
تَنفِرُوا
فِي
الْحَرِّ
قُلْ
نَارُ
جَهَنَّمَ
أَشَدُّ
حَرًّا
لَّوْ
كَانُوا
يَفْقَهُونَ
fariḥa l-mukhallafūna bi-maqʿadihim khilāfa rasūli llāhi wa-karihū ʾan yujāhidū bi-ʾamwālihim wa-ʾanfusihim fī sabīli llāhi wa-qālū lā tanfirū fī l-ḥarri qul nāru jahannama ʾashaddu ḥarran law kānū yafqahūna
Those who did not take part in the battle (of Tabuk), were glad about their staying home against the order of the Messenger of God. They did not want to fight for the cause of God with their property and in person and said, "Do not march (to the battle) on the hot days." (Muhammad), tell them, "The heat of hell fire is much more severe, if only you would understand."
