التوبة
al-Tawbah (Repentance)
ٱلتَّوْبَة
9:113
مَا
كَانَ
لِلنَّبِيِّ
وَالَّذِينَ
آمَنُوا
أَن
يَسْتَغْفِرُوا
لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ
وَلَوْ
كَانُوا
أُولِي
قُرْبَى
مِن
بَعْدِ
مَا
تَبَيَّنَ
لَهُمْ
أَنَّهُمْ
أَصْحَابُ
الْجَحِيمِ
mā kāna li-n-nabiyyi wa-lladhīna ʾāmanū ʾan yastaghfirū li-l-mushrikīna wa-law kānū ʾulī qurbā min baʿdi mā tabayyana lahum ʾannahum ʾaṣḥābu l-jaḥīmi
After it was made clear that the pagans are to be the dwellers of hell, the Prophet and the believers should not have sought forgiveness from God for them even though they may have been relatives.
