الجن

al-Jinn (The Jinn)

ٱلْجِنّ

72:8

وَأَنَّا

لَمَسْنَا

السَّمَاءَ

فَوَجَدْنَاهَا

مُلِئَتْ

حَرَسًا

شَدِيدًا

وَشُهُبًا

wa-ʾannā lamasnā s-samāʾa fa-wajadnāhā muliʾat ḥarasan shadīdan wa-shuhuban

"We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames.

And that we

وَأَنَّا

sought to touch

لَمَسْنَا

the heaven

السَّمَاءَ

but we found it

فَوَجَدْنَاهَا

filled (with)

مُلِئَتْ

guards

حَرَسًا

severe

شَدِيدًا

and flaming fires

وَشُهُبًا

wa-ʾannā lamasnā s-samāʾa fa-wajadnāhā muliʾat ḥarasan shadīdan wa-shuhuban
