al-A‘rāf (The Elevations)
ٱلْأَعْرَاف
7:89
قَدِ
افْتَرَيْنَا
عَلَى
اللَّهِ
كَذِبًا
إِنْ
عُدْنَا
فِي
مِلَّتِكُم
بَعْدَ
إِذْ
نَجَّانَا
اللَّهُ
مِنْهَا
وَمَا
يَكُونُ
لَنَا
أَن
نَّعُودَ
فِيهَا
إِلَّا
أَن
يَشَاءَ
اللَّهُ
رَبُّنَا
وَسِعَ
رَبُّنَا
كُلَّ
شَيْءٍ
عِلْمًا
عَلَى
اللَّهِ
تَوَكَّلْنَا
رَبَّنَا
افْتَحْ
بَيْنَنَا
وَبَيْنَ
قَوْمِنَا
بِالْحَقِّ
وَأَنتَ
خَيْرُ
الْفَاتِحِينَ
qadi ftaraynā ʿalā llāhi kadhiban ʾin ʿudnā fī millatikum baʿda ʾidh najjānā llāhu minhā wa-mā yakūnu lanā ʾan naʿūda fīhā ʾillā ʾan yashāʾa llāhu rabbunā wasiʿa rabbunā kulla shayʾin ʿilman ʿalā llāhi tawakkalnā rabbanā ftaḥ baynanā wa-bayna qawminā bi-l-ḥaqqi wa-ʾanta khayru l-fātiḥīna
We would certainly be inventing falsehoods against God if we were to accept your way of life, when God has already saved us from it. We do not have to accept it unless God, our Lord, wills it. Our Lord's knowledge covers all things. We trust in Him and ask Him to judge among us and our people, for He is the best Judge."
