al-A‘rāf (The Elevations)
ٱلْأَعْرَاف
7:100
أَوَلَمْ
يَهْدِ
لِلَّذِينَ
يَرِثُونَ
الْأَرْضَ
مِن
بَعْدِ
أَهْلِهَا
أَن
لَّوْ
نَشَاءُ
أَصَبْنَاهُم
بِذُنُوبِهِمْ
وَنَطْبَعُ
عَلَى
قُلُوبِهِمْ
فَهُمْ
لَا
يَسْمَعُونَ
ʾa-wa-lam yahdi li-lladhīna yarithūna l-ʾarḍa min baʿdi ʾahlihā ʾan law nashāʾu ʾaṣabnāhum bi-dhunūbihim wa-naṭbaʿu ʿalā qulūbihim fa-hum lā yasmaʿūna
Is it not a lesson for the successors of the past generations that had We wanted, We could have punished them for their sins, sealed their hearts and deprived them of hearing?
