69:7
سَخَّرَهَا
عَلَيْهِمْ
سَبْعَ
لَيَالٍ
وَثَمَانِيَةَ
أَيَّامٍ
حُسُومًا
فَتَرَى
الْقَوْمَ
فِيهَا
صَرْعَى
كَأَنَّهُمْ
أَعْجَازُ
نَخْلٍ
خَاوِيَةٍ
sakhkharahā ʿalayhim sabʿa layālin wa-thamāniyata ʾayyāmin ḥusūman fa-tarā l-qawma fīhā ṣarʿā ka-ʾannahum ʾaʿjāzu nakhlin khāwiyatin
which continued to strike them for seven and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees.
