al-Nisā’ (Women)
ٱلنِّسَاء
4:66
وَلَوْ
أَنَّا
كَتَبْنَا
عَلَيْهِمْ
أَنِ
اقْتُلُوا
أَنفُسَكُمْ
أَوِ
اخْرُجُوا
مِن
دِيَارِكُم
مَّا
فَعَلُوهُ
إِلَّا
قَلِيلٌ
مِّنْهُمْ
وَلَوْ
أَنَّهُمْ
فَعَلُوا
مَا
يُوعَظُونَ
بِهِ
لَكَانَ
خَيْرًا
لَّهُمْ
وَأَشَدَّ
تَثْبِيتًا
wa-law ʾannā katabnā ʿalayhim ʾani qtulū ʾanfusakum ʾawi khrujū min diyārikum mā faʿalūhu ʾillā qalīlun minhum wa-law ʾannahum faʿalū mā yūʿaẓūna bihī la-kāna khayran lahum wa-ʾashadda tathbītan
Had We commanded them to kill themselves or abandon their homes, only a few of them would have done it. If they had done what they had been advised to do, it would have strengthened their faith,
