فَكَيْفَ
إِذَا
أَصَابَتْهُم
مُّصِيبَةٌ
بِمَا
قَدَّمَتْ
أَيْدِيهِمْ
ثُمَّ
جَاءُوكَ
يَحْلِفُونَ
بِاللَّهِ
إِنْ
أَرَدْنَا
إِلَّا
إِحْسَانًا
وَتَوْفِيقًا
fa-kayfa ʾidhā ʾaṣābathum muṣībatun bi-mā qaddamat ʾaydīhim thumma jāʾūka yaḥlifūna bi-llāhi ʾin ʾaradnā ʾillā ʾiḥsānan wa-tawfīqan
But how will it be when an affliction visits them because of what their hands have sent ahead? Then they will come to you, swearing by Allah, ‘We desired nothing but to do good and to bring about comity.’

How then, when they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which they hands have sent forth? Then their come to thee, swearing by Allah: "We meant no more than good-will and conciliation!"
