al-‘Ankabūt (The Spider)
ٱلْعَنْكَبُوت
29:10
وَمِنَ
النَّاسِ
مَن
يَقُولُ
آمَنَّا
بِاللَّهِ
فَإِذَا
أُوذِيَ
فِي
اللَّهِ
جَعَلَ
فِتْنَةَ
النَّاسِ
كَعَذَابِ
اللَّهِ
وَلَئِن
جَاءَ
نَصْرٌ
مِّن
رَّبِّكَ
لَيَقُولُنَّ
إِنَّا
كُنَّا
مَعَكُمْ
أَوَلَيْسَ
اللَّهُ
بِأَعْلَمَ
بِمَا
فِي
صُدُورِ
الْعَالَمِينَ
wa-mina n-nāsi man yaqūlu ʾāmannā bi-llāhi fa-ʾidhā ʾūdhiya fī llāhi jaʿala fitnata n-nāsi ka-ʿadhābi llāhi wa-la-ʾin jāʾa naṣrun min rabbika la-yaqūlunna ʾinnā kunnā maʿakum ʾa-wa-laysa llāhu bi-ʾaʿlama bi-mā fī ṣudūri l-ʿālamīna
Some people say, "We have faith in God." But when they face some hardship for His cause, they begin to consider the persecution that they have experienced from people as a torment from God. When your Lord grants you a victory, they say, "We were with you." Does God not know best what is in the hearts of every creature?
