al-Ḥajj (The Pilgrimage)
ٱلْحَجّ
22:28
لِّيَشْهَدُوا
مَنَافِعَ
لَهُمْ
وَيَذْكُرُوا
اسْمَ
اللَّهِ
فِي
أَيَّامٍ
مَّعْلُومَاتٍ
عَلَى
مَا
رَزَقَهُم
مِّن
بَهِيمَةِ
الْأَنْعَامِ
فَكُلُوا
مِنْهَا
وَأَطْعِمُوا
الْبَائِسَ
الْفَقِيرَ
li-yashhadū manāfiʿa lahum wa-yadhkurū sma llāhi fī ʾayyāmin maʿlūmātin ʿalā mā razaqahum min bahīmati l-ʾanʿāmi fa-kulū minhā wa-ʾaṭʿimū l-bāʾisa l-faqīra
to see their benefits, commemorate the name of God during the appointed days, and offer the sacrifice of the cattle that God has given them. They themselves should consume part of the sacrificial flesh and give the rest to the destitute and needy people.
