وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ
We did not make them bodies that did not eat food, nor were they immortal.

Commentary on Quran 21:8
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 21:8] All the messengers of Allah were human beings. As human beings they were subject to all laws governing the physical bodies of human beings in this world.
