12:109

وَمَا

أَرْسَلْنَا

مِن

قَبْلِكَ

إِلَّا

رِجَالًا

نُّوحِي

إِلَيْهِم

مِّنْ

أَهْلِ

الْقُرَى

أَفَلَمْ

يَسِيرُوا

فِي

الْأَرْضِ

فَيَنظُرُوا

كَيْفَ

كَانَ

عَاقِبَةُ

الَّذِينَ

مِن

قَبْلِهِمْ

وَلَدَارُ

الْآخِرَةِ

خَيْرٌ

لِّلَّذِينَ

اتَّقَوْا

أَفَلَا

تَعْقِلُونَ

wa-mā ʾarsalnā min qablika ʾillā rijālan nūḥī ʾilayhim min ʾahli l-qurā ʾa-fa-lam yasīrū l-ʾarḍi fa-yanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu lladhīna min qablihim wa-la-dāru l-ʾākhirati khayrun li-lladhīna ttaqaw ʾa-fa-lā taʿqilūna

The Messengers whom We sent before you were mere men of the people of the towns. We gave them revelations. Have they (the unbelievers) not travelled sufficiently through the land to see how terrible the end was of those who lived before. The next life is, certainly, better for the pious ones. Will you not then take heed?
