فَجَعَلَهُمْ

كَعَصْفٍ

مَّأْكُولٍ

fa-jaʿalahum ka-ʿaṣfin maʾkūlin

thus making them like chewed-up straw?

Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.
