Ali ibn Ja’far asked his brother Imam Musa ibn Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon them both, about an imam (of prayer) who was in the Dhuhr prayer, and his wife stood facing him to pray with him, thinking that it was Asr. Does that invalidate the prayer of the congregation? And what is the ruling of the woman in her prayer with them, given that she had already performed Dhuhr? Imam عليه السلام said: “That does not invalidate the prayer of the congregation, but the woman must repeat her prayer.”
