And from him, from Safwan, from al-Ala’, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام said: “Do not count the rak’ah in which you did not witness the takbir with the imam (of prayer)” (meaning do not count it as a completed rak’ah)
