Al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Safwan from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim from one of the two (Imams عليه السلام), peace be upon them:
I asked Him عليه السلام about a man who recites two Surahs in one rak‘ah. Imam عليه السلام said: “No, for each Surah there is a rak‘ah.”
