Al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id, from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd, from Zur‘ah, from Abu Basir:
Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “When you sit in the second rak‘ah, say: ‘Bismi Allah wa billah wa alhamdu lillah wa khayru al-asmai lillah ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh arsalahu bil-haqqi bashiran wa nadhiran bayna yadayi al-sa'ah ashhadu annaka ni'ma al-rabb wa anna Muhammadan ni'ma al-rasul Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa Aali Muhammad wa taqabbal shafaatahu fi ummatih wa irfa darajatah’ (In the Name of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, and by Allah سبحانه وتعالى, and all praise is due to Allah سبحانه وتعالى, and the best of names belong to Allah سبحانه وتعالى. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah سبحانه وتعالى, alone, without any partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم is His servant and His messenger. He سبحانه وتعالى sent him with the truth as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner before the Hour. I bear witness that You سبحانه وتعالى are the best Lord سبحانه وتعالى, and that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم is the best messenger. O Allah سبحانه وتعالى, send blessings upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and accept his intercession for his nation, and raise his rank.) Then you praise Allah سبحانه وتعالى twice or three times, then rise. And when you sit in the fourth (rak‘ah), you say: ‘Bismi Allah wa billah wa alhamdu lillah wa khayru al-asmai lillah ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh arsalahu bil-haqqi bashiran wa nadhiran bayna yadayi al-sa'ah ashhadu annaka ni'ma al-rabb wa anna Muhammadan ni'ma al-rasul al-tahiyyatu lillah wa al-salawatu al-tahiratu al-tayyibatu al-zakiyatu al-ghadiyatu al-raihat al-sabi ghat al-na'imatu lillah ma taba wa zaka wa tahura wa khalasa wa safa falillah wa ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah.
