Chapter on Rulings on Forgetfulness (Sahw) in Prayer and What Requires Repeating of Prayer

Hadith #45

وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« إِنْ كُنْتَ لاَ تَدْرِي كَمْ صَلَّيْتَ وَ لَمْ يَقَعْ وَهْمُكَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ فَأَعِدِ اَلصَّلاَةَ»

And from him, from ‘Abbad bin Sulayman, from Sa‘d bin Sa‘d, from Safwan: Abu al-Hasan , peace be upon him, said: "If you do not know how many rak‘ahs you have prayed, and your assumption does not settle upon anything, then repeat the prayer."
