Safwan narrated from Ibn Muskan, from al-Halabi: I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام about wiping over leather socks. Imam عليه السلام said: "Do not wipe (over leather socks)." And Imam عليه السلام said: "Indeed, my grandfather (The Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) said, 'The Book (Quran) has already preceded regarding the leather socks.'"
