وَ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبَّابٌ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَدْيَانِ قَالَ قَالَ عَقِيدٌ الْخَادِمُ وَ قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ خَيْرَوَيْهِ التُّسْتَرِيُّ وَ قَالَ حَاجِزٌ الْوَشَّاءُ كُلُّهُمْ حَكَوْا عَنْ عَقِيدٍ الْخَادِمِ وَ قَالَ أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ نَوْبَخْتَ قَالَ عَقِيدٌ الْخَادِمُ وُلِدَ وَلِيُّ اللَّهِ الْحُجَّةُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ غُرَّةَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَ خَمْسِينَ وَ مِائَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ وَ يُكَنَّى أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ وَ يُقَالُ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ وَ لَقَبُهُ الْمَهْدِيُّ وَ هُوَ حُجَّةُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي أَرْضِهِ عَلَى جَمِيعِ خَلْقِهِ وَ أُمُّهُ صَقِيلُ الْجَارِيَةُ وَ مَوْلِدُهُ بِسُرَّ مَنْ رَأَى فِي دَرْبِ الرَّاضَةِ وَ قَدِ اخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ فِي وِلَادَتِهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَظْهَرَ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَتَمَ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ نَهَى عَنْ ذِكْرِ خَبَرِهِ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَبْدَى ذِكْرَهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ.
Abul Hasan Ali bin Muhammad bin Habbab said: Narrated to me Abul Adyan that: Aqeed the servant, Abu Muhammad Ibne Khairawayh and Hajiz Washsha all narrate from Aqeed the servant, and Abu Sahl bin Naubakht said: Aqeed the servant said:
“The close friend of Allah, al-Hujja Ibn al-Hasan bin Ali bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Musa bin Ja’far bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Husain bin Ali bin Abi Talib, bliss of Allah be for them all, was born on the Friday eve in the month of Ramadhan of the year two hundred and fifty four after Hijra. His patronym is Abul Qasim and it is also said that it is Abu Ja’far. His title is al-Mahdi and he is the proof of Allah on His earth.
People have split many ways on the subject of his birth: Of them are those who have let it be known, of them are those who have concealed it, of them are those who have been forbidden from mentioning him, and of them are those who have made his name public. And Allah knows the best.”
