حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ خَارِجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: إِنَّ ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ لَمْ يَكُنْ نَبِيّاً وَ لَكِنَّهُ كَانَ عَبْداً صَالِحاً أَحَبَّ اللَّهَ فَأَحَبَّهُ اللَّهُ وَ نَاصَحَ لِلَّهِ فَنَاصَحَهُ اللَّهُ أَمَرَ قَوْمَهُ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ فَضَرَبُوهُ عَلَى قَرْنِهِ فَغَابَ عَنْهُمْ زَمَاناً ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَضَرَبُوهُ عَلَى قَرْنِهِ الْآخَرِ وَ فِيكُمْ مَنْ هُوَ عَلَى سُنَّتِهِ.
What was narrated regarding Dhul Qarynayn
Narrated to us my father (r.a.): Narrated to us Saad bin Abdullah from Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Isa from Ali bin Noman from Harun bin Kharija from Abi Baseer from Abi Ja’far that he said:
“Dhulqarnain was not a prophet, but he was a righteous man. He love Allah and Allah loved him. He was sincere for Allah and Allah was his well wisher. He called his people to fear Allah. They hit on one side of his head and he disappeared from them for a long time. Then he returned to them and they again hit on his head. And there is among you who is on his Sunnah (practice)
