Regarding the Designation of Al-qa'imرجعنا إلى ذكر ما روي عن أبي محمد الحسن العسكري ع بالنص على ابنه القائم صاحب الزمان ع حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو طَالِبٍ الْمُظَفَّرُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْمُظَفَّرِ الْعَلَوِيُّ السَّمَرْقَنْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْعَيَّاشِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَلْخِيُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ هَارُونَ الدَّقَّاقُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَاسِمِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْتَرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مَنْقُوشٍ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع وَ هُوَ جَالِسٌ عَلَى دُكَّانٍ فِي الدَّارِ وَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ بَيْتٌ عَلَيْهِ سِتْرٌ مُسَبَّلٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا سَيِّدِي مَنْ صَاحِبُ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ فَقَالَ ارْفَعِ السِّتْرَ فَرَفَعْتُهُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا غُلَامٌ خُمَاسِيٌ لَهُ عَشْرٌ أَوْ ثَمَانٌ أَوْ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ وَاضِحُ الْجَبِينِ أَبْيَضُ الْوَجْهِ دُرِّيُّ الْمُقْلَتَيْنِ شَثْنُ الْكَفَّيْنِ مَعْطُوفُ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ فِي خَدِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ خَالٌ وَ فِي رَأْسِهِ ذُؤَابَةٌ فَجَلَسَ عَلَى فَخِذِ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ ع ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي هَذَا صَاحِبُكُمْ ثُمَّ وَثَبَ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا بُنَيَّ ادْخُلْ إِلَى الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ فَدَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ وَ أَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي يَا يَعْقُوبُ انْظُرْ مَنْ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَدَخَلْتُ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَداً.
We return to the narration reported from Abu Muhammad al-Hasan al-Askari regarding the designation of his son, the Qa'im, the Master of the Age .
Narrated to us Abu Talib Muzaffar bin Ja’far bin Muzaffar Alawi Samarqandi: Narrated to us Ja’far bin Muhammad bin Masud from his father Muhammad bin Masud Ayyashi: Narrated to us Adam bin Muhammad Balkhi: Narrated to me Ali bin Husain bin Harun Daqqaq: Narrated to us Ja’far bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Qasim bin Ibrahim bin Malik Ashtar that he said: Narrated to me Yaqoob bin Manqoosh that he said:
“I went to Abi Muhammad Hasan bin Ali to find him sitting on his usual place in his house. There was a room to his right with a curtain at its entrance. I asked the Imam: Who is the master of this affair? He replied: Lift that curtain. When I lifted the curtain I saw a boy aged eight or ten years, having a broad forehead, fair complexion, pearl-like upper lip. Soft and clear palms, broad shoulders, long knees, a mole on the right cheek, hair reaching to the forehead, came out and went on to sit in the Imam’s lap.
The Imam said: This is your master. Then he said to the child: Son, go back till the appointed Hour. So the child arose and went into the room. I was looking at him continuously. Then the Imam said to me: Yaqoob, go and look in the room. When I entered that room there was no one there.”
