Narrated to us Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Ishaq Dainawari: Narrated to us Abu Bakr bin Abi Dawood: Narrated to us Ishaq bin Ibrahim bin Shazan: Narrated to us Walid bin Hisham: Narrated to us Muhammad bin Zukwan: Narrated to me my father from his father from ibn Sireen from Jabir Ibn Samura that he said: ‘We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he said, “This matter (Islam) will continue till there are twelve (Caliphs). The people started screaming due to which I could not hear what he said thereafter. I asked my father, who was closer to the Prophet ﷺ than me, ‘What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say?’ He replied, “All of them will be from Quraish and their like will not be seen.”

[Al-Saduq says:] And the chains of transmission for this hadith have been cited through the narration of Abd Allah ibn Masud and through Jabir ibn Samurah in the book al-Nass ala al-Aimmah al-Ithna Ashar concerning Imamate.
