حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْقُشَيْرِيُّ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ مَرْزُوقٍ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمْ أَمْرَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَطْوَلُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ حَبْلٌ مَمْدُودٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ طَرَفٌ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ وَ عِتْرَتِي أَلَا وَ إِنَّهُمَا لَنْ يَفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَنْ عِتْرَتُهُ قَالَ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ ع.
Narrated to us Hasan bin Abdullah bin Saeed: Informed us Qushairi from Mughirah bin Muhammad bin Muhallab: Narrated to me my father from Abdullah bin Dawood from Fudhail bin Marzuq from Atiyyah Aufi from Abi Saeed Khudri that he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I leave among you two matters, one of them being longer than the other: the Book of Allah, which is a rope drawn from the heavens to the earth, an end of which is with Allah; and my progeny. The two shall not separate from each other till they reach me at the Pool. I asked Abi Saeed: ‘Who are his progeny?’ He replied: ‘His Ahlul Bayt .’”
