حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ الْوَاسِطِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ لِلرِّضَا عليه السلام وَ أَنَا حَاضِرٌ أَ تَخْلُو الْأَرْضُ مِنْ إِمَامٍ فَقَالَ لَا.
Narrated to us Muhammad bin Hasan bin Ahmad bin Walid 
that he said: Narrated to us Saad bin Abdullah from Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Isa from Abbas bin Maroof from Ibrahim bin Mahziyar from his brother Ali bin Mahziyar from Hasan bin Bashshar Wasiti that he said: Husain bin Khalid asked al-Ridha in our presence: “Can the earth remain without an Imam?” He replied: “No.”
