حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالا حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ وَ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الْمُعَلَّى بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عليه السلام هَلْ كَانَ النَّاسُ إِلَّا وَ فِيهِمْ مَنْ قَدْ أُمِرُوا بِطَاعَتِهِ مُنْذُ كَانَ نُوحٌ عليه السلام قَالَ لَمْ يَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ وَ لَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ.
Narrated to us my father; and Muhammad bin Hasan - May Allah be pleased with them - they said: Narrated to us Saad bin Abdullah and Abdullah bin Ja’far Himyari from Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Isa from Muhammad bin Isa bin Ubaid from Husain bin Saeed from Ja’far bin Basheer; and Safwan bin Yahya, all of them from Moalla bin Uthman from Moalla bin Khunais that he said: I asked Aba Abdillah : “Did it become necessary after Prophet Nuh that there should be a person among the people, to obey whom is incumbent on them?” He replied: “It is so, but most people do not believe.”
