Hariz narrated from Muhammad ibn Muslim, who said: "I asked Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir عليه السلام about a man who has slaves and wills to free one-third of them. Imam عليه السلام said: 'Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib عليه السلام used to draw lots among them.'"
