It was narrated from Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar, who said: I asked Abu Abdullah عليه السلام about a Muhrim using a miswak (tooth-stick). Imam عليه السلام said: "Yes." I asked: "What if it causes bleeding while using it?" Imam عليه السلام said: "Yes, it is part of the Sunnah."
