Hadith.2115 - The area known as al-Hatim was named as such because people crowd and jostle each other there, "crushing" (yahtim) one another in that space.
As for why people touch (istilam) the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner while not touching the other two corners of the Ka'bah, it is because the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner are aligned with the right side of the Divine Throne (al-‘Arsh). Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, specifically commanded the touching of what is on the right side of His Throne.
