Hadith #28
وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ إِذَا رَأَى اَلْمَحَارِيبَ فِي اَلْمَسَاجِدِ كَسَّرَهَا وَ يَقُولُ «كَأَنَّهَا مَذَابِحُ اَلْيَهُودِ.
When Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib
عليه السلام
saw the niches (mihrabs) in mosques, he would break them and say, "It is as if they are the altars of the Jews."
